Central England Co-operative will be offering customers in stores across Burntwood the chance to find out more about Fairtrade Fortnight as part of a special campaign.
Shoppers heading into Cannock Road Central England Co-operative food store, in Burntwood, from Monday 27 February to 12 March will be able to speak to staff about the benefits of Fairtrade, learn more about the products stocked in stores and also sample Fairtrade chocolate.
The in-store campaign is part of Fairtrade Fortnight and has been organised to educate people about how Fairtrade ensures better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers across the world.
Youngsters can also learn more about where their food comes from by picking up a special Fairtrade colouring sheet when visiting one of the participating stores.
They can then colour it in, return in and be in with the chance of winning a Star Wars or Frozen colouring set.
Charlotte Milgate, Store Manager at Central England Co-operative’s Burntwood Food Store, said: “The Co-operative was the first supermarket to embrace Fairtrade, so we are delighted to be taking part in this awareness campaign to help our customers learn a bit more about Fairtrade and try some of our great range of product.”
This year, the Fairtrade Foundation is encouraging everyone to get involved in Fairtrade Fortnight.
From organising coffee mornings to holding tea parties, there are lots of ways to make a difference.
More information about Fairtrade Fortnight is available by visiting http://www.fairtrade.org.uk
Chocolate bar samples are limited at each store.
