Central England Co-op is at the heart of the community in Wooldale

All three Wooldale stores have been refurbished as part of a major investment in the area by the Society.

Offering a new and wide range of products, the stores have been refitted with the latest in pioneering energy efficient refrigeration technologies as well as LED lighting, to lower any environmental impact from the stores.

A community event was held to welcome customers and introduce them about initiatives such as the Community Dividend Fund, a grant based fund for good causes, and member classes which are specific to members of the Society and include activities like line dancing and yoga. The customers, colleagues and members were also asked what they would want to see from the Society in the future.

The stores in Wooldale have all now been fitted with lifesaving defibrillators and seven good community causes in the area have been awarded grants from the Community Dividend Fund, totalling around £14,000, since the merger

Representatives for the Member and Community Council have been elected in the area, giving a voice to each community as well as providing customers with a close point of contact for dialogue with the business.

Central England Co-op has welcomed new colleagues, customers and members into the fold, and will continue to work closely with them to ensure a strong presence into the future.
