Giant polar bear and snow queen descend on Great Barr as part of special Christmas display

The Snow Queen of Narnia and a giant polar bear have decided to make our florist shop in Great Barr their temporary home this festive season – as part of an amazing winter display.

This stunning image showcases how the Central England Co-op Florist, in Walsall Road, has seen its window transformed into an ice and winter themed extravaganza – including a snow queen, her sled and a giant polar bear and his family.

The display has already been a major hit with customers – especially local youngster 10-year-old Abi Bickley who is featured in one of the pictures. Abi lives with Down’s Syndrome and her father Paul said after visiting the florist that she had been ‘enthralled’ by the display and that her face ‘lit up’ after seeing it. The team from Great Barr Florist invited Abi and her father to their special Christmas event this past weekend as guests of honour after noticing how much she enjoyed the display.

Sue Carty, from Great Barr Florist, said: “We hold a Christmas extravaganza event every year and love to go all out to bring a little Christmas spirit to the area with our window displays.

“The theme this year is the Snow Queen from Narnia and the display includes a winter setting and even a giant polar bear with his little polar bear children.

“All of our team have loved putting the window together and have enjoyed all the great feedback from people stopping to have a look to posting pictures on social media posing with the window in the background.

“Please come along to the shop to take a look at the great display in the run up to Christmas and see the great skills of our floral team in action.”
