Co-operative Travel in Alvaston has collected more than 20 chocolate eggs as part of an annual Easter Egg Appeal in a bid to support people in need in the area.

The Co-operative Travel, in London Road, Alvaston, has collected the Easter eggs for the Hope Centre, in Derby, in connection with colleagues at the Central England Co-operative Food Store, in Alvaston.

The centre was launched in May 2011 and aims to tackle poverty and support the most vulnerable in the community.

The Easter eggs will be distributed just in time for Easter Sunday.

Travel branch manager Lorraine Jeffries said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers who have dug deep and helped us out with our Easter egg collection.

“All gifts will be donated to the Hope Centre

“It is the eleventh year that Central England Co-operative has organised this activity and we are helping to put smiles on even more faces this year.”
