Brand new Ashbourne Co-op is set to create 22 new jobs

Jobseekers in Ashbourne can now apply to be part of the team at a brand new Central England Co-operative Food Store opening in the town.

The store, based in Blenheim Road, is set to open later this year and a range of roles are now available for a variety of different positions.

The retailer has now launched a recruitment drive for 18 Customer Services Assistants, three Team Leaders and a Store Manager.

The new convenience store will offer shoppers an expansive range of products and will be fitted out with pioneering new energy efficient refrigeration technologies to minimise environmental impact, LED lighting and a lifesaving defibrillator.

Adam Waudby, Operations Manager for the area, said: “We are excited about our new store in

Ashbourne and cannot wait to be part of the local community.

“The new site will feature a vibrant and modern store opening in a busy area that will provide all customers and members with all of their essentials and also see us invest in the local economy and create jobs for local people.

“We are now on the lookout for people to take up these roles and would urge anyone interested to head to our jobs website to find out more about becoming part of Central England Co-operative.”

The new Food Store is set to open towards the end of October and is part of a major investment by the retailer in the area.

Central England Co-op will continue to operate its Ashbourne Supermarket, based in the Shawcroft Centre, alongside its new Blenheim Road Food Store.
