Central England Co-op has teamed up with a budding gardener and his son from Burntwood to offer up some green-fingered growing tips for people at home due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

The retailer today launches a specially created online tutorial with Mike Ankers and his son Tommy as part of a new campaign called Take 5 in the Community.

The video campaign is all about giving Members and local businesses a platform to share their expertise and help their communities during this uncertain time.

Mike has offered up some tips on how to grow five things easily in the garden while isolating at home.

In the videos he showcases how easy it is to grow garlic, onions, peas, parsley and lettuce.

He said: “As so many people are at home at the moment and the weather has been good, I thought it would be great to offer up a few top tips of simple things you can grow in the garden.

“Hopefully it will allow people to have a few extras to boost their cooking but also provide a welcome distraction for those with children who need a helping hand to help pass a few minutes.”
