Central England Co-operative Funeralcare has officially opened a new and innovative funeral site in Leicestershire – the first of its kind in the Midlands.

The new funeral booking office is based in Main Street, Broughton Astley – just yards from a Central England Co-op food store - and a total of £50,000 has been invested in the new venture.

The new site will offer a vastly superior look and feel for families including modern colours and new furniture and has been placed at the heart of the high street.

The decision to open the new site comes following a successful trial and then roll-out of a smaller booking office style of funeral home in Peterborough last year.

Funeral Director Karen Poole said: “This is a very exciting time for my team and we are proud to be part of the community in Leicestershire.

“At Central England Co-op we are dedicated to supporting our families during difficult times by offering them the very best care and support from the first moment that we meet them.

“We feel our new home in Broughton Astley reflects our commitment to providing excellent standards of care and ensures that we can help people in the local area during their time of need.”

To mark the opening, local clergy, representatives from nearby businesses and members of the public were given a guided tour of the premises and refreshments.

Karen added: “We were proud to welcome dignitaries to our official opening and to show them around our new funeral home – it was the perfect way to show people that we are always here for them.”

In addition to arranging funerals, Karen and her team are also able to offer advice on floral tributes, monumental masonry, funeral stationery, pre-paid funeral plans and probate advice.  The team can be contacted on 01455 245945.
