Central England Co-operative Funeralcare has welcomed the announcement over plans by the Competition and Markets Authority and HM Treasury regarding the funeral market and funeral planning.

The funeral provider, which has 128 Funeral Homes across 16 counties, has stated that it will support both bodies in their efforts to ensure that clients and their loved ones are protected and always receive the highest levels of funeral care.

Furthermore, Central England Co-op has moved to reiterate to customers and members that its funeral plans are fully guaranteed – meaning that there will never be more to pay for the services chosen.

All of the funeral plans include the funeral director’s fees and services, hearse and personnel, cremation or burial fee and minister’s fees.

Kevin Crute, Head of Funeralcare at Central England Co-operative, said: “As a funeral care provider, we are confident about the open and clear way in which we provide and showcase information in relation to the cost of funerals and our fully guaranteed funeral plans.

“Our full and clear price lists are published in every Funeral Home and our funeral plans are fully guaranteed – this means that loved ones will not be hit with unexpected bills at what is already a very difficult time.

“Everyone at Central England Co-operative Funeralcare welcomes the announcements from the Competition and Markets Authority and HM Treasury around funeral cost and funeral plans and will be supporting in any way we can.

“We applaud any effort launched to help families in their time of need and ensure they get the highest standard of funeral care at all times.”
