Customers help Central England Co-op enjoy spook-tacular sales this Halloween

Central England Co-operative has a seen strong sales performance over the 2017 Halloween period.

The Society reported that sales of pumpkins rose by 7% and Halloween themed bouquets of flowers jumped by 35%.

This growth has been assisted by the event becoming the third biggest seasonal occasion in the UK across the year next to Easter and Christmas.

It is estimated that shoppers spent over £400 million this year in an effort to enjoy a spooky Halloween.

Other items that have been a hit with Central England Co-op customers and members included top selling confectionary lines such as Malteser funsize bags, Cadbury Heroes, Friends treatsize and Squashies drumsticks.

The Society is now turning its attention towards Christmas with lines ranging from advent calendars to Irresistible products starting to appear in stores.
