Make it a local Christmas with Nottinghamshire-brewed tipples available from Central England Co-op

Shoppers at Central England Co-op stores can bring a local flavour to Christmas this year as the retailer is selling a selection of locally-brewed real ales from three Nottinghamshire breweries in 12 of the county’s stores.

Customers of Central England Co-op can enjoy locally-brewed real ales and ciders from Pheasantry Brewery, Blue Monkey Brewery and Farmer Fear LLP.

Pheasantry Brewery was born from the roots of the Camm family who have farmed in Nottinghamshire for generations, growing cereals, vegetables and sugar beet.

Today it is still a family farming business run by a brother and sister who are responsible for day to day operations including its on-site brewery.

Blue Monkey Brewery was first established by John Hickling and Trevor Vickers in 2008 in Ilkeston.

The firm brews a range of different beers from traditional-style cask ales through to artisan hand-bottled specials and cutting edge hops.

Farmer Fear LLP is based in rural Nottinghamshire and uses generations of knowledge to make a range of real ciders.

Supporting local producers is important to Central England Co-op and the retailer now stocks many locally-sourced products.

Clifton Food Store Manager Matthew Welborne said: “We are really proud at Central England Co-op of continuing our long tradition of working with local suppliers by joining forces with three great Nottinghamshire breweries to showcase some great beers and ales.

“This Christmas, customers can enjoy a great offering when it comes to beers, wines and spirits, made even better by the addition of some great local creations made just a few miles away.

“We also have some great options in our stores when it comes to pairing our range with food. This is a fantastic opportunity to really make the most of your Christmas dining experience and enjoy a locally-produced, festive drink.”
