Rainbows Hospice handed early Christmas present following £2k donation from Co-op Funeralcare

Central England Co-operative Funeralcare has teamed up with Rainbows Hospice to ensure Christmas comes early - by donating £2,000 to help pay to support youngsters living with disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

The money was handed over on behalf of the funeral provider by Neil Finn, Funeral Director at Swanns Funeral Service, which, like Rainbows, is based in Loughborough.

The donation will now be used to pay for the general care and support for children who use the vital hospice, as well as funding a range of activities from memory making to arts and crafts.

Funeral Director Neil Finn said: “The work that the team at Rainbows undertakes every day is quite simply amazing and the impact they have on youngsters and their families is vital.

“We are proud to be part of the local community and I was so pleased to be able, on behalf of Central England Co-operative Funeralcare, to present this amazing cause with £2,000 to help these brilliant youngsters this Christmas and beyond.
“We have a long-term relationship with Rainbows and always happy to support the vital cause in the great work it does for youngsters and their families from across the East Midlands.”

Rainbows Hospice was launched in 1994 and is the only hospice in the East Midlands for children and young people.

The hospice offers a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support through specialist respite, palliative and end of life care.

Gary Farnfield, Community Fundraiser at Rainbows Hospice, said: “We are so thankful for this amazing donation from everyone at Central England Co-operative Funeralcare.

“This will allow us to continue to offer the great care and support to our children and their families and is a real boost in the run up to Christmas.
“We are proud to have strong links with Central England Co-op and cannot thank them enough for the ongoing support they provide, year in and year out.”
