Members and customers can enjoy free health checks at part of a special day-long wellbeing event in Ripley.

The body MOT will take place from 9.30am to 3pm at Ripley Central England Co-operative store on Friday, December 8, and people who take part will receive information on blood pressure, heart rate/weight & body mass index, body fat, peak flow and CVD risk assessment.

The event forms part of a wellbeing event organised by Community Movers – an Amber Valley Borough Council scheme which offers support to help individuals take the first steps towards an active and healthy lifestyle.

Gavin Glidewell, Ripley Co-op Store Manager, said: “Health and wellbeing is really important and we as a Society are always looking for opportunities to support our colleagues, members and customers along the way.

“The free body MOT is a great way for people to have a quick check-up and learn about ways to improve their health and wellbeing at the same time.”

Members of Central England Co-operative’s Membership and Community Council will also be on hand to offer healthy food options and to talk about the benefits of membership.

The Co-operative Wellbeing Day at Ripley Central England Co-operative will also be supported by Derbyshire Healthwatch, Citizens Advice, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hearing Help, Amber Trust (P3), C4TCT and the Air Ambulance.
