A community food store in Stretton where colleagues have been going above and beyond to support locals during these uncertain times has been given a fresh new look following an investment of £95,000.

The Eton Park Central England Co-op in Princess Way, Stretton has received a raft of updates to give it a fresher, lighter feel and to include a number of new ranges and features to boost its offering to the local community.

This follows the store’s colleagues working around the clock to ensure vulnerable people across the community have continued to have access to vital food and essentials through the Coronavirus pandemic.

The refreshed store front of the community food store includes brand new external signage to give it a more modern, fresher look.

Other changes include:

  • Installation of a new free cold water refill station
  • An updated product range to better reflect customers’ requirements
  • New internal signage and decoration
  • New look bakery

Store Manager Donna Jones said: “We are all delighted with the changes to the shop which have made it a lot brighter and airier. It feels much bigger and almost like a new store.

“I would like to thank our customers and members for their patience while the work has been taking place and we have already received some really nice and positive feedback about the changes.

“The team are really happy, and it has made it feel like all the hard work over the last few months has really been worth it to have a transformed store at the end of it.”

The Eton Park Community Food Store is open every day Monday to Sunday 7am-10pm.

The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Collect Plus/Paypoint, car park, Lottery and an instore bakery.
