The official Premier League trophy will be making a special appearance at a Birmingham supermarket giving football fans a chance to have a glimpse at the world famous trophy in the flesh.

Central England Co-operative has joined forces with the Official Snack Partner of the Premier League Cadbury to give the city the opportunity to host the trophy for the day on Friday, 13 December.

The coveted prize, currently draped with the colours of Manchester City who retained the trophy in May, will be available to view and have photographs with at the retailer’s Erdington Supermarket in High Street from 11am to 4pm.

Erdington Store Manager Gary Brooks said: “We are absolutely thrilled to team up with Cadbury to bring the Premier League Trophy to Erdington and give football fans the chance to have their picture taken with such an iconic piece of silverware, which has been held aloft by some of the most famous footballers in the world.

“For most people, particularly long-suffering Midlands football fans like myself, this will be the closest they will ever be able to get to seeing the trophy up close.

“We are proud to be part of a fantastic community in Erdington so to give people of all ages here the chance to come in store and see the trophy makes me really proud and I would like to thank Cadbury for helping to make this happen.”

A spokesperson from Cadbury said: “As proud sponsors of the Premier League we are delighted to collaborate with Central England Co-op to bring the Premier League trophy to Erdington for the local community to enjoy.”

As part of the event, Central England Co-op customers and members will have the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win an official Premier League football shirt of their choice.
