Arranging the funeral
Contact a funeral director
The first thing to do is to get in touch with a funeral director as soon as possible. You can call us at any time of day or night, and you don't have to wait for the death certificate to be issued. We will be there to support you, and to take on all the responsibility for arranging and carrying out the funeral.
The funeral director will arrange to remove the deceased's body to the funeral home if you wish, and will talk to you about making the funeral arrangements, explaining the process and outlining the choices to be made.
You will not be rushed into making decisions at this stage; when you are ready, your funeral director will be there to finalise the details with you. This discussion can take place at the funeral home or anywhere else convenient for you and your family.
Your funeral director will provide a detailed written estimate covering the entire service, and can advise on costs, budgeting and payment options. (It may be possible, for instance, to pay for the funeral from the estate of the deceased.)
How we can help
As a leading funeral director, we offer a complete service starting from the moment you contact us. We will be there to offer emotional support, expert advice and practical help. Our funeral homes have viewing lounges where family and friends can pay their last respects in total privacy, and we can deal with things like press announcements, floral tributes, memorials, catering and repatriation as well.
We have experience in arranging non-religious ceremonies as well as services for a range of religions, and will liaise with the church, temple, cemetery or crematorium about the date, time and details of the funeral service.
