Snacking experts reveal how football fans can taste their way through England’s World Cup opponents

Central England Co-op has come up with some great deals to help customers cheer on England at Russia 2018 - all from the comfort of their own home.

To help people prepare for the tournament, snacking experts at the Society have come up with great offers and ideas to help bring a little added interest to the big games.

Monday, 18 June will see the Three Lions kick-off their World Cup campaign at 7pm against Tunisia live on the BBC.

On the way home from work why not pop into your local Central England Co-op and pick up some great beer and cider offers from 4x440ml cans of Carling for £4 or 10x440ml cans of Strongbow for £8.50.

Fans can also sample the cuisine of England’s opponents by picking up all the items needed to make a simple dish of lamb and couscous.

Get ready for the next big game at 1pm on Sunday, 24 June against Panama by stocking up on Co-op British Beef Quarter Pounds for £2.50 or the pizza meal deal – made up of a pizza, beer or a soft drink - for just £5 and also tins of chicken soup, which is one of the national dishes of Panama.

England finish their group games by taking on Belgium at 7pm on Thursday, 28 June and why not toast the start of the game by enjoying an ale brewed by our opponents. Enjoy the full Belgium experience by tucking into a dish favoured by football fans from the county – chips and mayonnaise, which can be picked up in stores from just £2.

Or if you are feeling patriotic during any of the three games indulge the inner England fan by tackling a British football staple – Bovril and a meat pie.

If you have got the kids at home, keep them occupied before, during and after the games by picking up a pack or two of Panini stickers for just 80p.

These suggestions come on the back of research conducted by the Society which showed that the biggest selling lines were beers, wines and spirits, crisps, nuts, frozen pizzas and soft drinks during previous tournaments Euro 2016 and World Cup 2014.
