Golden-Syrup Baked Apples (gluten and dairy free)

Super quick and easy, warm comforting pudding. Sweet and sticky, and using very few ingredients. Delicious served with ice cream or custard.
Ingredients
- 4 Bramley apples, cored, with the bottom sliced and flattened
- 4 tbsp Tate & Lyle golden syrup
- 50g walnuts, chopped
- 50g Co-operative seedless raisins
- 2 tbsp butter ice cream to serve (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
- Place the prepared apples into a baking dish.
- Drizzle 1 tbsp of the golden syrup over each of the apples allowing some to fall into the core.
- Sprinkle over the nuts and raisins, also allowing them to fall into the cavities.
- Add a knob of butter to each apple, and bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes, or until golden and tender.
- Plate the apples up, and pour over any of the juices, which were released during cooking.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if preferred.
